About the Building

After the Chicago Fire, the site of 431 N. Dearborn was occupied by a loft building, a gas station and finally the present structure, which was erected in 1948 for the Phillips Getschow Company, an engineering firm which planned the mechanical systems for many of Chicago's most prominent buildings.
