Springhill Suites/ Residence Inn
The Springhill Suites and Residence Inn, situated at the corner of Kinzie and Dearborn Streets, was a joint development venture between Friedman Properties and White Lodging. White Lodging, one of the country’s largest Marriott franchisees, marked the delivery of its 100th Marriott hotel with this River North development.
Completed in 2008, the hotel brings together two highly respected brands under one roof. The two hotels total approximately 353,000 SF, with 27 floors and 523 rooms. The hotel features a business service center, valet services, guest laundry facilities, a swimming pool, a whirlpool spa, a health center, meeting rooms, a well-appointed front desk and lobby area, a 24-hour food and snack shop, Einstein’s Bagels, and Hub 51.
The Marriott Residence Inn (270 suites) caters to extended stay travelers by replicating the comforts of home. Suites feature separate living, working, sleeping and eating areas, along with fully equipped kitchens and a door-to-door grocery service. SpringHill Suites (253 rooms) offers amenities tailored to the needs of business travelers including large, well-lit desks, free Internet access, and a full service boardroom and business center. The ground floor of the dual flagship hotel adds 14,500 SF of retail space to the neighborhood.
